Tour Itinerary
🗓️ Day 1: Arusha – Arusha National Park
The day will begin with a short drive from your hotel in Arusha to the nearby Arusha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most underrated gems. Though smaller than other parks, it offers a unique blend of landscapes—from montane forests to open grasslands and the tranquil Momella Lakes. The towering peak of Mount Meru provides a stunning backdrop throughout the day.
You’ll have the chance to go on a walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, bringing you closer to giraffes, zebras, and buffaloes on foot. The park is also home to colobus monkeys, flamingos, warthogs, and more than 400 species of birds.
Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic site with sweeping views of the park, followed by a gentle game drive before returning to Arusha for the evening.
Overnight at: Outpost Lodge / Green Mountain Hotel
🗓️ Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
The day will begin with breakfast and a scenic drive south to Tarangire National Park, famed for its ancient baobab trees and dense elephant population. As you enter the park, herds of elephants roam freely, while wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, and impalas graze along the Tarangire River.
Keep an eye out for tree-climbing pythons, leopards hiding in the tall grass, and large troops of baboons that often dominate the landscape. The birdlife is also remarkable, with hornbills, bee-eaters, and eagles soaring above.
Lunch will be served inside the park. The afternoon will be spent on a game drive through varying terrains, ending with golden-hour sightings of wildlife gathering at watering holes.
Overnight at: Migombani Camp / Eileen’s Tree Inn (near Lake Manyara or Karatu)
🗓️ Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
The day will begin with a journey toward the endless plains of the Serengeti, passing through the lush highlands and rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The drive itself is rich in scenery—rolling green hills, Maasai villages, and, as you enter the Serengeti, open golden savannahs that stretch to the horizon.
Once inside the park, game viewing begins immediately. The Serengeti is home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, hyenas, and—during migration season—massive herds of wildebeest and zebras.
Lunch will be provided in the park, followed by an afternoon game drive in the central Serengeti (Seronera region), known for its big cats and riverine landscapes.
Overnight at: Serengeti Heritage Camp / Budget Tented Camp
🗓️ Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
The day will begin with a sunrise game drive, one of the best times to witness predators in action. You’ll likely spot lions returning from a hunt, or leopards lounging in trees as the plains begin to glow with early light.
After breakfast, we’ll enjoy a final game drive through the Serengeti en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, we may pass Maasai herders with their cattle and more wildlife trailing the migration route.
Lunch will be provided en route or at a scenic viewpoint. In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the crater rim for dinner and overnight rest, with dramatic views of the world's largest unbroken caldera just outside your door.
Overnight at: Simba Public Campsite / Rhino Lodge
🗓️ Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
The day will begin early with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most wildlife-rich regions in Africa. The crater floor is home to the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards, as well as flamingos, hippos, hyenas, and more.
The diversity of habitats—wetlands, forest, savannah, and lake—means you’ll witness a variety of species within a relatively small area. A picnic lunch will be served at a quiet spot near a hippo pool.
After the game drive, we’ll ascend the crater walls and begin the journey back to Arusha, arriving by early evening.
